FAQ

 

This page aims to answer some frequently asked questions.

 

#1 How do I Import my league data?

You can import your league data by clicking the share button then the "Open in Scorecard" or "Copy to Scorecard" button from the interacting app such as Mail or Dropbox.​

 

#2 In what format should our league data written?​​​ Do you have an example?

​ScorecardmatchCard is able to read league and card data in JSON. Here is a sample league data and more info about setting up my league.

 

#3 How do I share my Scorecard data?

You can share your data after all data is completed on the card including all league references, actual scores equals expected scores and both the home and away team captains have approved the card via touch ID or simple approval at which time the save button denoted by the floppy disk image transforms into a share button denoted by the upink image. Clicking on the share button, opens up the activity sheet where you can use either Mail or Save to Dropbox depending on setup.

 

#4 How do I Import my card data?

You can import your card data by clicking the share button then the "Open in  Scorecard" or "Copy to  Scorecard" button from the interacting app such as Mail or Dropbox.​

 

#5 What does the card data actually contain?

The card data actually contains the full match card and game entries. Please refer to my card for more details.

 

#6 What card types does it support?

The supported card types are open league, round robin and three discipline. Please refer to card types page for more details.

 

#7 Can I switch between different leagues?

Yes, you can switch leagues in settings from the side menu. The current league is used to filter pending cards. It's also the default for a new card.

 

#8 How can I select the location of the match?

You can set the home club by clicking "Set home venue here" or the pin icon underneath the league name. The pin button shows the clubs in a map.

 

#9 Can both team captains approve the card?

At the moment, only the home team captain or the owner of the app can approve the card using touch ID or by manual approval. To approve the card, click the home or away team logo on the left of the total score of a team. The touch ID dialogue will then appear. When approved, the card will be readonly.

 

#10 How can see the players for a team?

On the screen footer, you can swipe left to right and browse adjacent team players. You can also long press to open up the player position screen, and completely show all the players in a team.

 

#11 How can I assign the player position in a team?

On the screen footer, long press a player or position to invoke the player position screen. Drag and drop a registered player over the desired position above to assign a player in a team.

 

#12 How can I view all matches for a particular player?

On the screen footer, short press to a player to sort games by that player position. Single press again to toggle back to original sort order using game index.

 

# 13 How can I share and submit the match card?

The save button on the away team score transforms into share button when both sides of the team is approved. You can share the card via Message, Mail, Dropbox etc, depending on your configuration.

 

# 14 How can I remove cards?

You can remove cards on the pending submission screen by swiping a row to the left to delete a card from the phone. The app also asks you to remove the card from the phone after sharing the card. See previous question.

 

# 15 Can I reset the tooltips in the app?

Yes, you can reset the tooltips from the settings screen, then reset tooltips.

 
# 16 How can I show all tooltips all at once?

You can show all tooltips all at once from the setting screen, then show all tooltips.

 

# 17 Can I customise the background color of the home or away teams?

Each team type has four preset colours to choose from. For the home team, you can set the background color to grey, green, blue and purple. For the away team you can set the background color to grey, yellow, orange and red. You can do this from the setting screen, then show/hide team colors.

 

# 18 There are to many game entries in the match card, how can I keep track of them?

You show/hide the game index at the settings screen.

 

# 19 Can I switch between card types?

Yes. You can can set the card type in the settings screen and by selecting set card to open league, round robin or 3 discipline. This will clear the card data except for the league which is defaulted to the existing app league. Normally a league will support only one card type however, the app supports several card types and you can switch between them anytime. It is up to the league recipient when the card is submitted to validate the consistency of card types submitted. 

 

# 20 How can I create a new card?

You can create a new card by going to the side menu and clicking "New match card". 

 

# 21 What default values are set on a new card?

The default values on a new card are the aplication league if set, and the card type. 

 

# 22 Can I erase all data in the app?

No, there must be at least existing league data in the app. You can either reset all the data from the shipped sample from the "Settings" menu or chose "overwrite" when importing league data. This will erase any existing data and then write the new set of data.
